With my boat being frustratingly close to hitting the water, I find myself still minus a depth finder. If I'm going for stripers or blues, what should I do?

I'm really just psyched to be back out on the water, but feel a little helpless not knowing what the bottom looks like. Can you chum for stripers/blues? Any suggestions?

You can definitely chum in the Norwalk Island area but the water also gets pretty skinny in spots. I'm going to assume you have no GPS yet either but Budds Reef and Green s Ledge are good places to start. If you don't know the water then find an area safely off the channel around Sheffield, hopefully far enough out so boat traffic won't be too bad and give it a shot.

Good luck

Thanks, buds reef was where I was gonna start and my boat has crazy shallow draft so I should be alright in most places so long as I pay attention to the tide. Thanks again.
