Fished out of newport again today on the frances fleet w/ pretty decent results. Fished 40-60ft of water most of the time and even 8 ounces was rippin. Some people were actually using 12oz, but then again they also were using cod rigs for fluke Rolling Eyes It was pretty choppy out there today and we were fishing the rise most of the time. I started off w/ the usual hi low w/ mylars, had a keeper and a few shorts to 18.75" before getting snapped off on a lobster pot. Mad I switched to whole squid and managed 3 more keepers to 6lbs and a nice bonus 21" seabass that tipped the scales at a whopping 4lbs 8oz, which i think might be a personal best for me. I got to take my buddy with me who's never gone before and he did pretty good for a rookie. He had 3 keeper fluke to 4# and 1 keeper seabass. All totalled btwn the two of us, we had 7 keeper fluke to 6lbs and 2 keeper seabass to 4.5lbs, which we just ate and it was deeeeeeeeeelicious. Here's a couple pics.
