That's pretty sick! Be cool to get some underwater footage, but I don't think a camcorder would survive.

If you hooked one your line would probably get cut off by another blue since they're so thick.

this was a common occurrence when i was a kid ... no one carried around video recorders though. i have seen schools as big run through Pilot's Point marina on more than one occasion, was actually in the water for a school that large near Long Sand Shoal (scary). A day in between two days of Pilot's Point blitz's a school ran through Hammonassett beach during swim time and a young girl got her leg chewed up!! Hopefully some fellow fisherman on here can verify the validity of these fish stories.

When my dad was a teenager living with his family on Fairfield Beach near Penfield Reef, he used to see blitzes the size of 2 football fields!

He and others have told me that in those times you'd catch plenty of gators and even some gorillas compared to what you catch now.

His tradition was during the right time of year, have the beach windows open while relaxing in the living room. Keep and close ear out for unusual splashing sounds and birds. Quickly run to the window when he starts hearing that stuff and sees those gators making a bloody mess out there. He runs to get his setup and a heavy 2 ounce pencil popper and is catching one after another.
