Anyone out there ever try running multiple hook setups on there tip ups? I was thinking of running something like a typical back fish or porgy rig for off a boat, weight with barel swivel tied to leader at the bottom then up say 6 inches put another section of leader coming off 6 inches with a hook shiner or choice of bait then another foot or w/e distance you like run another hook off that section of leader. I feed like this will be good not only for attracting fish but also locating depth the fish are feeding in as we'll as the possibility for multiple fish hook up.

Hi,

Ct. inland fishing rule.

You can have as many hooks as you want on a rig -> BUT only 3 hooks can be baited !

Yeah I don't think you would need more than 3 baited hooks on a tip up. Just curious if anyone runs a setup like this. Might get expensive for bait tho. Unless your catching em Laughing

It's a good way to find out what they are hitting on.Mealie/minnow combo usually the minnow is grabed but it moves the mealie around.Any combo you want.Never had a double header that way only a greedy perch that grabbed.the minnow and mealie. The only problem is that when you hook a fish the others can get in the way or snag the fish so it becomes difficult to pull it throuhh the hole.
