Hey everyone...I am a newbie but have been reading the posts for a while (isn't that called poaching?) I am also a baby boomer so not spry. But still able bodied and passionate about ice fishing and get out every chance life affords me. And passionate about fishing in general. Born April 15 my 5th birthday was on Opening Day. My parents bought me a new mitchell 300 with a blue Garcia 5 Star fiberglass rod and gave it to me on Friday the night before Opening Day. Man it was saweet! They said I was going to Quabbin Reservoir for trout and to get to sleep. I was so pumped there was no getting to sleep. OK eventually I fell asleep hey I was 5 and tuckered out from running around. We didn't have video games back then we actually played outside. I know wierd!. .... But back to CTfishtalk. I had to jump in and get involved with my sport. Not getting any younger...But in regard to CTFT I have to say I enjoy the comradery I see with the members. Looking forward to adding a post or two.

Welcome, Moose!
I want to plan a trip up to the Quabbin this year. I hear you can troll for salmon and it's pretty much a sure thing, or as close as you can get. Let me know if you're interested. I'm right next door in Plainville, by the way.

Haven't fished it since i was five actually. But an uncle that passed away a few years back fished it religiously for lakers and salmon. Saw many pics of beautiful fish...I mostly concentrate on Squantz/Candlewood...East Twin and the Saugatuck reservoir for trout and walleye. Plus the Farmington in the spring. ..Would love to explore Quabbin though with you....life is an adventure as they say. Thanks for the invite
