Hi,

Took a road trip today with my friend Steve.
Left Winsted at 10:00 AM and headed up Rt 183 north.
Stopped at York Pond, Ma to check it out -> pond frozen but road still snowed in.
Continued on to Buell Lake, Ma. -> 3 vehicles in parking lot -> lake frozen but couldn't see anyone.
Connected with Rt. 7 in Great Barrington and stopped at "Taft's Family Farm" -> Picked up some artisan bread (Honey Oat Bread and Raisin Cinnimon Bread) + 2 cups of Broccoli Cheddar Bisque ...Delicious !
Next stop was the "Norman Rockwell Museun" and "Tanglewood" for their 2013 event brochures.
Continued on to "Onota Boat Livery" at Pittsfield, Ma. -> We both picked up a few fishing lures and chated with the 2 owners about ice fishing + petted their Golden Retreiver "Molly" now 4 years old. (I remember her as a rolly polly puppy Very Happy )
Their score board noted a 11 lb.-20 oz. Brown Trout caugth this ice season and a 35 inch Pike.
Left Pittsfield and traveled east and picked up Rt. 9 to Rt. 8 to Rt. 143 to Rt. 112 south to Huntington, Ma.
Beautiful ride thru the back roads in the Berkshiers with sun shinning.
Stopped at the "Huntington Country Store" (Sort of a mini version of Vermont Country Store) -> Had lunch (Buffalo Chicken Blue with Cheddar in a Spinach Wrap) -> SUPER !
Each of us got some old fashion sodas (Sarsaparilla, Birch Beer, Orange Cream, and Raspberry Lime Ricky) + some of their famous fruit "Warpells" + Irish Soda Bread + various hard candies.
Left there and picked up Rt. 20 west to Rt. 8 south -> Drove by Otis Res. for a look see -> Then on to Colebrook Res. and Hogback Res.(all gates closed)
All waters frozen, and we saw no-one on the ice.

Returned to Winsted by 3:30 PM. -> Total miles traveled 127.
Was a great day to take a road trip to check waters we plan to fish as soon as the ice is gone !
Also we decided we will hit one of the 2 Shad festivels (Windsor or Essex) here in Ct. in May. -> Ah! Smoked Shad .... can hardly wait Thumbs Up
