Is it the same for trolling as Ice Fishing? 5 poles (five tip-ups)

I think its only two per angler and both poles must be attented to at all times. no more than 6 points (trebble hooks count as three points) per line. Thats how I read it but I could be wrong , I'm sure someone will be around to correct me if I am. -Duncan

No, trolling is considered "angling" under the regulations. Here's the relevant regulation:
Quote:
26-112-43. Definitions and restrictions
(a) "Angling" means fishing with hook and line which shall be personally attended, but shall not include ice fishing or snagging or snatching. Not more than two lines, with or without rods, may be used at one time. Each line may have any combination of hooks, flies or lures, among which not more than three hooks may be baited.

You may have up to only two lines in the water at one time. You may have as many hooks as you want, but not more than three may be baited.

I hope I can adhere to this rule seeing that I have 4 pole holders on my boat!

You can bring as many rods as you want, but try to remember to put only up to two lines in the water at a time. I have to admit that I might have screwed up on occasion and thrown a third line into the water while trolling two. Embarassed
