Try Chamberlain Lake in the NW corner. Catch and release only, but some big fish and always bitten.

It's not private, but Hopeville Pond in Griswold has a campground and a nice size lake.

Did you mean Chamberlain Lake in the NE corner? or are there two Chamberlain Lake campgrounds lol?

If you mean the one in Woodstock, I agree !

Point Foley is good for camping but I think you need to get your spot early in the year because they get taken up quickly. I used to go there every 4th of july when I was younger. Its great I would park my boat on the water and get out there when the sun was rising in the morning. Bantam Lake if you didn't know.

Sorry to hijack your post but i was actually looking for something similar as well but maybe a cabin rental to go with the family, anyone have any ideas?
