Finally got some fishing in this weekend, and hit it hard. Hit the Sound on Saturday (yes I know this is River fishing section), and the CT River on Sunday. Probably fished a total of 14 hours between both days. It was beautiful outside both days.

I heard that the River had a huge Bass fishing tournament last week, with different states. Probably why I didn't see a single bass. However, I hooked into a handful of Pike. The two biggest were 31" and this monster which was a little bit over 39.5". The big one is my new Personal Best, weighing in at 14.7lbs. I measured the girth of it too, really quickly and it was 17"...she had been eating well..

I got a new cradle for Pike and Muskie, so I was able to guide the fish in after a long fight. It was very powerful.

The second fish was a 2lb 5oz Porgy that I caught in the Sound. It was a monster. I know its hard to tell from the picture, but it was a hubcap size..

I went to CT Outfitters to have the Porgy weighed, and got my picture taken. Getting a Trophy Pin for both. Oh yeah I was using a KVD Series Crankbait to catch the Pike, and a Sandworm to catch the Porgy.

Nice pike!
I've been getting them in the Mattabessett, but not that big.
I think I need to get back into the Ct river for the big ones.
