Has anyone given Silver Lake a go lately? Havent been out this year yet but in the past I've had great success catching big crappie, bass, and chained picks. Wondering if its worth a trip. Also if anyone knows how thick the ice is that would be great [/img]

Just checked Silver Lake a few minutes ago for you. I walked about 15 feet off the launch and drilled a hole. Two cranks and the auger went straight through. Cracked under my feet so I ran off the ice and didn't even bother checking the thickness but if I had to guess it would MAYBE be 1 inch. Not much snow on the ice and still some open water.
