Plank? I was riding my quad on a lake in westchester county in NY with well over a foot on black ice, and 5 inches of white ice today and that us 45 minn south of Mt Tom. Don't bring a plank, bring a gas auger to get thru all that ice

Sure didn't need a plank! Got to meet NorthEastFisherman. Nice kid. He won a prize too if I remember correctly for a pickerel. Nice job.

It was extremely slow! Three of us got 3 fish total. 2 stocky rainbows and 1 brown. 1 flag (the brown), the two rainbows were jigged.

Oh well. Place is tough!

Going to Ball Pond tomorrow afternoon for a couple of hours. Anyone wants to meet up I should be getting there between 3:30 and 4:00. North side by the weeping willow.

Yep! That was me! I won on my pickerel (1.70lbs I think). During the whole day I got like 5-6 pickerel and a brown trout (12oz) which I kept and am eating right now haha. My dad got some pickerel as well.

After that I wasn't feeling good about the small fish so we checked out candlewood and that was the ticket. Within 15 minutes I jigged up a beautiful smallmouth which out up a great fight on 4lb and a light rod (video coming soon) and I got a big perch which I only got the release of. Next weekend will for sure be spent at candlewood.

Congrats NEF!

Now that lots of snow has melted, ice is still thick, and the arctic air has returned, I'd stick with Candy instead of going to Squantz or Mt Tom.

Nice....

I was there too - 10 trout! Couldn't believe it. Nothing of any size though, all stocked rainbows. Half on tip ups, half jigging. Almost all fish where less than about 30 ft from shore.

Winning fish was a largemouth a little under 4 lbs.
