A buddy and I kayak fished the Mattabassett yesterday for 4 hours and didn't catch a single thing. Saw a few Carp surfacing, that was it. Maybe the water is still a bit cold? Maybe the flooding is still effecting things? I threw just about everything and came up with nothing.

Did you try a lipless crankbait (e.g., Rattletrap)?

Looks like I'll be out of the Mattabassett for a while! The local sewage treatment plant was one of 13 in the state to overflow. Tens of thousands of gallons of sh1t water flooded into the river Wednesday into Thurdsay stocking the Mattabassett with rare and elusive fin-less brown trout!

Pike should be post spawn about now. Once the water warms up a little more the action should pick back up.
