Been getting some nice browns out of the reservoir. Last week I got two that were around 20" and my boy Steve got one 21" on Sunday. The water level is coming back up so the bite has slowed a little bit but they are still hitting.

I love this place, but not for fishing. For # of reasons.....#1 cost (need permit $25 along with fishing license).

Off shore fishing has been unlucky for me mostly. Past 2-3 seasons I have only caught 1 12" LMBass.

I don't get out there fishing much though. Mostly driving, hiking and viewing (it's just amazing over there). Amazing roads and nice vistas.

One of my favorite scenic places in CT.

Not sure if you can fish there on ice, I went there once WITH the permit and fishing license prior to April and some guy kicked me out, told me season doesn't start until April.

If you want to go around the rules, go there Sunday as workers are not around (but can be) so be careful. First time they give you a warning, 2nd is a ticket (which is pretty steep).

Dec 31st-3rd Saturday in April(open trout season). There are time restrictions to fishing the reservoir and ice fishing isn't allowed along with boats. You also need a permit for it. If you try to fish without following the rules you WILL be caught there. It's a great fishery because they do a great job maintaining and patrolling.
