Hi guys.

Its been a while since i posted a new thread but i thought i would share this story. I was fishing last saturday with rookie on one of my favorite lakes when i landed this 5 pound bass.

I caught this beast in around 12 feet of water on a black and blue jig. The water temps were between 60-65 degrees all day.

It was a little windy all day but all and all we had a good day of fishing. We each caught a hand full of nice smallies. And rookie caught a couple largies too. [img][/img]

Thanks guys.

I was really surprised when i finally got it near the boat and got a good look at it.

As far as jigs go Peco, theyre easier to use than you would think. The hardest part is building up enough confidence to use them regularly.

I usually use the smallest jig that i can still feel the bottom with (depending on the wind) . Then i basically just drag them around and twitch em once in a while to make it look like a crawfish. The past few weeks the fish havent been hitting them too hard. They just been picking the jigs up and swimming away with it. So be ready to set the hook whenever you feel anything out of the ordinary.

Btw, Itsy btsy jigs in black

Thanks michael.

It was a strong fish. It took a few long runs but thankfully it didnt jump.

Great catch. A true trophy! Were you dragging the jig or hopping it?

I was doing a little bit of each.
I was dragging the jig and twitching it once in a while. This was me attempting to make it look like a crawfish.
