Would anyone like to join me fishing on my bass boat, tomorrow?

I’ll let you choose where; either Mansfield Hollow for largemouth bass or the mouth of the Connecticut River for striped bass and bluefish.

Haven't checked this site in ages. The mouth was loaded with bunker, blitzing bass and blues today. If you haven't made a fall run trip yet, get out there! Tight lines!

Wish I saw this earlier. Would have jumped at the chance to go after some stripers.

Hey, Brian! I fished the mouth of the Connecticut with Dan1 (aka Dan) on Saturday from 6:45 am to 10:30 am. We must have left before the blitzing bass and blues showed up. I got only one schoolie at the inlet on the west bank and Dan got a sea robin direcly across on the east bank, before we headed upriver to the the big channel marker at the top of the No Wake Zone after you leave Baldwin and caught 12 schoolies on what Rich Zaleski calls "the swing bite".

I ended up fishing at Mansfield Hollow for half a day on Friday. The bite was slow. My lunker largemouth bass weighed only two pounds, one ounce.

Would you be free to fish tomorrow, Mark? Monday's my last day to fish before I head out of town to San Francisco for a week and I want to head back down to the mouth of the Connecticut.

I’m sorry we weren’t able to get out. I’m being a prudent grown-up and getting ready for my trip. I’d rather be cleaning, laundering and packing than fishing, anyway, right? 🙄

The bunker and fished cleared out this week. I went Saturday afternoon hoping to see more blitzing action. Other than some scattered bunker and albies west of the river, and SMALL schoolies in the mouth, it was dead in the afternoon/early evening. We managed a number of stripers, including a few up over 40" once the sun went down on eels. It may be about time to switch to pike on teh river.
