All the places you listed are a good place to try. Anything that breaks up the normal shape of the lake like rock piles. inlet or outlet currents, creek channels, lay downs, etc.

I would probably try a shaky-head worm setup on a jighead and fish very slowly. Try and work it along the ledge drop-offs.

Would that pit be in milerton ? If so used to get some nice rainbows out of there in late 80's,Then it just shut down. Went twice last year with no luck,saw a few monster pickeral.

Sevnseat, is there a possibility of going in there with a float tube? That would eliminate the inhospital shoreline. Just a thought.

Hey Sevnseat, I would try very finesse techniques, small rubber worms(berkely 4 inch),grubs,small tubes,and some very small jigs use light weight even line,try 6 lb flourocarbon, or try to go with reaction,small swimbaits,some small pond 1/8 ounce spinnerbaits, I would start where that little stream comes in,hopefully those fish will stage there and feed a jig should do well, good luck.

Hey i know you said it is not easy to get to but try fishing it at night give some glow baties a try i find that trout and bass will get so eratated that they cant help but bite. i know it is Dec but when it worms up. I am intrested to see what happens good luck

Have you ever tried live shiners and/or Gulp Alive minnows rigged with a smalll jig head and a slip float. That way you can target pretty much any depth that you want.

If you are trying to target the trout throw a chartreuse crocodile. I fished a place like the one you are describing and did very well with the above bait. You can fish it at different depths by counting it down.

I used to fish a few quarry's in the past and I always found best to use a slip bobber with BIG LIVE BAIT. If I was you, I would target that stream that feeds the pit. Set up a couple of rods with your bait below the bobber at different depths. Ide toss it in front of that stream and just free spool it, let the slow current take it where it may. Lazy man fishing for sure, but sometimes thats just the ticket... Best of Luck.
