My girlfriends cousins step dad who I am going to fish with soon has caught a 10 and 12 pounder. I see both mounts on his wall. I know the 10 pounder was caught at the eagleville dam up near storrs way. I forgot where the other one was caught.

Ashland pond is a haven for large bass .
I 've seen more 5 to 7 pounders pulled out of there than any other lake or pond in CT.

I think it's going to come from there caught on soft plastic.

There are some hogs in that pond. Wink

I think there are a couple state records that can easily be broken. The smallmouth bass record is a little lighter than 8 lbs and ive caught a few 5lbers from candlewood and had a bunch of huge ones chase my minnow up to the surface. I've heard some stories of people hooking into big bass while pike fishing on the ct river. Id like to see the lake trout record be broken Laughing

There is a BIG difference between a 5lb largemouth and a 7lber
