Not to mention the standard power pro is abrasive and can possibly wear grooves in your guides.

..that is less of a concern for those of us who can only manage to fish six days a week..

I recently got some good deals on Ebay for 125 yard spools of 10 pound and 30 pound Spiderwire Stealth. Fully spooled a Fierce 2000 with the 10 pound and waiting for a new for 2014 Pursuit II 4000 so I can fully spool it with the 30 pound.

I've heard when you have your reel fully spooled with braid you get better distance than when you have 125 yards of braid over mono.

Common March!!!!!!!

it really makes no difference in casting distance having backing or not. As long as you fill the spool all the way

i agree with crest daddy. There is no difference at all and couldnt be unless you were casting and exposing some backing in doing so. Having the reel spooled right to 1/8" from the lip is proper and where youll get your best casting results, any less and youll start losing distance and any more and youll start running into casting problems like line coming off the spool and knotting up while casting.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Nice thing about the 2014 second gen Pursuit is it has lines on the spool telling you how many yards of line are on the reel.
